Review: Buffy Body Butter

Hey!  I'm back with my first real post. This is going to be a review of the Buffy body butter.  I'm going to start with what LUSH says about the products and all the ingredients in Buffy.

"Massage our Buffy body butter all over your wet skin in the bath or shower to make you softer and smooth to the touch, paying special attention to your backside. We add ground rice, almonds and beans to Buffy to act as exfoliants; the rough textures eliminate lumps and bumps and sloughs away dry skin cells to reveal brighter, fresher looking skin. Rinse off the exfoliating bits and pat yourself dry. There's no need for body lotion after a Buffy slaying session, because the cocoa and shea butters keep your skin beautifully smooth, moisturized and soft to the touch."

The ingredients in Buffy are fair trade cocoa butter, shea butter, ground rice, ground almonds, ground aduki beans, perfume, lavender oil, lemon oil, citral, limonene and linalool.

The smell in the bar is very herbal.  It put me off when I smelled it and I was scared the smell would linger on my skin.  I store it in my body butter tin.  This bar is very moisturizing and exfoliating.

When I first rubbed it on my skin, it was very smooth, no exfoliation.  After I rubbed it for a while, the exfoliants showed through.  The exfoliation is extremely powerful.  It feels like someone is scratching at my skin, and I like that.  I stepped out of the stream of the shower, dried my hands off and rubbed the dry bar on my wet skin.  It feels so good, almost spa-like.  After I rubbed it all over and exfoliated my body, I rubbed it in for extra exfoliation with the exfoliants that stayed on my skin and then I rinsed it off.  In the shower I wasn't that sure if it was a good product.  I washed my hair (Curly Wurly and American Cream) and got out of the shower.  I dried off and the main thing I noticed was that my skin has a thin layer of oily residue on it, like most people say.  The residue was no problem, I was worried about the scent.  The residue was very light and soaked in fast, if you don't mind the massage bar residue, you won't mind this, it's less oily and sinks in quicker.

The scent was my initial problem when smelling the bar, it smells like Putty For Your Hands, not a pleasant smell.  The smell has lingered since I showered, but it is not bad on your skin.  It is a lot lighter and the pleasant smell on my skin may have something to do with my natural scent and the soap I used (Sultana of Soap).  On my skin it smelled very pleasant and I absolutely love this bar.

Final Verdict: If you need a good exfoliator that also provides moisture for dry skin on the body than get this if you don't have sensitive skin, buy this product.  If you want a slight exfoliation, don't buy this.  If you have sensitive skin don't buy this.

In all, I love this product and will be repurchasing it again and again.  Please share your experiences with Buffy in the comments below.

Thanks,

Mr. Lushie
