My Cup of Tea: Pineapple Kona Pop

Hey!  I am here with a new series.  It will be called "My Cup of Tea," and it will be when I try a new tea, I will review it on here.  I hope you guys like it.

The tea I will be writing about today is the Teavana tea is Pineapple Kona Pop.  This tea is an herbal tea.  It is by far my favorite tea from Teavana.  If you don't know, Teavana is a store in a bunch of malls (I have two by me) and they sell teas by the ounce.  You have to brew it yourself.  I recommend the large tea pitchers that you can get for $24.95 and are amazing quality.

To brew the tea, you put a certain amount (ask them to write how much on the label based on the pitcher size) in the brewer on the top and fill the main part of the pitcher with boiled water and put the brewer part onto the top.  Wait overnight for it to brew itself and then you can get started.  For this tea, use 1.5 tablespoons of tea per 8oz of water.

Don't drink it right out.  This tea, I recommend to drink it iced, so I will tell you what I did.  I took a mug and put a little bit of the brewed tea in it.  Then I placed a teaspoon of the German Rock Sugar they sell.  You don't have to buy it in the giant jar, you can buy it by weight, just like the teas.  So I put that in the tea and put that in the microwave for cycles.  I did 20 seconds and stirred, 10 seconds and stirred, 5 seconds and stirred and 5 seconds and stirred until all the rock sugar had dissolved.  Then I put that little bit of tea in a glass that had ice in it.  Then, I added more of the plain, brewed, cold tea as I saw fit.  Then I added a drop of honey.  I just used random honey from my pantry but Teavana sells really nice honey that I need to get when I go on Wednesday (expect a LUSH, B&BW and Teavana haul) to the Garden State Plaza.

This tea is the best tea that I have ever had!  I didn't have that tea aftertaste, it tasted like fruit.  I will tell you what Teavana says about this tea.  "Journey to paradise as you sink your toes into the warm, white sand beaches of Hawaii with each tantalizingly tropical cup.  An oasis awaits your senses as fresh grown pineapple & crisp white apple pieces meeting fragrant marigold, orange and mallow blossoms giving this vacation blend a tartly smooth 'aloha' inspired finish."  Honestly, I don't get any floral taste in this at all (which I like) and I hate floral scents, so that is a good thing for me.

The benefits of Pineapple Kona Pop Herbal Tea: Herbal infusions blend well with other teas for added flavor; naturally caffeine free; contains peach and pineapple; contains soothing rose.

Overall, this tea is phenomenal and I will be purchasing more when I go back to Teavana on Wednesday.

Have a TEA-riffic day!

LUSH Overviews: Bath Bombs

This is going to be a new series with mini-reviews/scent descriptions of the non-retro LUSH items.  This one is Bath Bombs.

Butterball- So moisturizing.  Smells of vanilla but the smell just disappears in the bath.  Make sure the water is hot so the chunks of cocoa butter can melt.
Big Blue- Smells of lemon and lavender.  Has lots of seaweed pieces.  I would put this one in a nylon or strainer, so you won't have to clean it up later.
Sex Bomb- Smells of Jasmine.  I don't like this smell, so I've never cared to try it.  I would take the flower out because it gets mushy in the tub.
Golden Slumbers- Relaxing lavender and chamomile fizzer.
Dragon's Egg- Smells like sherbet and has fun colors and glitter.  A real show in the tub.
Pink- Smells like all the LUSH candy scents.  I would sock it because it has lots of confetti in it.
Geo Phyzz- Good for sore muscles.  Smells like pine and cypress.
Avobath- Smells amazing.  It smells like lemongrass and it is really moisturizing, with lots of avocado in it.  Turns the water green.
Rose Queen- Smells like roses (ick) and has excessive amounts of flower petals for such a small bath bomb.
Mrs. Whippy- Smells amazing.  Like strawberries and cream (American Cream?) and is very moisturizing with almond oil.
Blackberry- Smells like Sultana, not blackberries. LUSH's first bath bomb.
Ickle Baby Bot- Smells similar to Golden Slumbers, but I like this bomb's smell (and color) better.
Honey Bee- Smells similar to Honey I Washed The Kids.  Has honey and rhassoul mud.
Fizzbanger- Has blue inside and fizzy candy in it.  Smells like candy apple cinnamon. Yummy.
Sakura- Not my favorite.  It is kind of boring to me.  Smells like almost nothing.
Space Girl- My favorite bath bomb!  Mine had no fizzy candy.  Smells subtly of grapefruit and blackcurrant.  Cocktails amazingly with Happy Blooming and Comforter.  Very moisturizing with almond oil.
Rocketeer- Smells of candy sticks.  Very subtle smell, if it were stronger, I would love it.
Phoenix Rising- Apparently it has a melt in it.  Smells of true, strong apple cinnamon. Yummy!
Vanilla Fountain- Smells of the LUSH Vanillary scent.  I would take out the vanilla pod first.
Tisty Tosty- Another rose scented bath bomb (blech) with petals in it.

I hope you like this series because it will be a nice filler for when I don't have any LUSH or candle hauls and I haven't tried anything new for a review.  Have a nice night!

Hey, sorry I haven't been updating.  I'm not going to come up with an excuse.

LUSH has a new collection coming out July 21st called Emotional Brilliance.  Nobody will say what it is.  Tell me what you think will be in the collection.

Sweet Fixations Tart Haul

Today, I got my order from Sweet Fixations.  I will tell you how they smell.

Cake Batter- Smells like vanilla cake batter
Caramel Apple- Heavy on the Macintosh with a background of something sweet (caramel, I guess)
Creme Brulee- Very accurate creme brulee scent
Caramel- Smells like the chewy caramel candies, not the ice cream topping
Lemon Berry Brulee- Probably my favorite.  Lemon vanilla scent with a background of fresh, sweet berries. I want to eat this one.
Mac Apple Candy- Strong on the Macintosh with a background of something sweet.  Pretty much the same as Caramel Apple, but lighter.
Watermelon- Not what I was looking for.  I wanted a real smelling watermelon.  This smells like watermelon Dum Dums.
Cherry Cola- Smells like Cherry Cola, light on the carbonation.
Caramelized Pralines- Got this after SayAnythingBr00ke raved about the CBV version.  Smells of strong caramel with a subtle nutty background.
Chocolate Dipped Cone- Strong mint chocolate with a more subtle bakery (waffle cone) element.  Smells really good.
Cherry Melons- Mostly cherry with a hint of watermelon in the background.  Not very strong.
Dole Whip- A sweet, creamy (vanilla ice cream) pineapple scent.  Not too strong.
Georgia Peach- Pure peach scent.
Kumquat- It smells okay.  Smells kind of orangey and peachy.  I don't know what a kumquat is.
Ocean Mist- Sterotypical sandy, fresh beach smell.  Not particularly crazy about it.  I'll have to melt it to decide.
Blue Hawaii- I smell mango and pineapple.
Blueberry Cobbler- Smells similar to Yankee Candle blueberry scones.
Zucchini Bread- I have no idea what this smells like and I don't really like it.  It smells kind of herbal with a vanilla background.  I don't think I have ever had zucchini bread.  Sorry on this one Tia, I just don't like this one.
Baked Apple Strudel- Smells like apples, spices and bakery.  I will probably save this one for the fall.
Sugar Cookie- Smells like the Caramel one with a bakery note.
Toasted Marshmallow- Smells like real toasted marshmallows.  I will probably save this for the winter and eat some marshmallows while smelling it.
Buttercream Frosting- Lighter thank Yankee's version, but it has something in it that I don't like as much.  It smells really good, but I don't think it will throw very well.
Fruit Loops (Free Sample)- Smells like real Fruit Loops.
Cherry Cola (Free Sample)- I'll be stocked up on this, thank god I like it.
Chocolate Yum-Yum (Free Sample)- Smells like chocolate.

FTC Disclaimer:  I paid for these products with my own money, except for the last free, which were included as my free samples.  I was not paid by any company mentioned in this video.  All opinions are my own.

Post-Bath Blog Post/Review

I just got out of the bath.  I did my Happy Spacecurrant Cocktail that I had never tried before.  I used 1 Space Girl Bath Bomb, 1/4 of a Comforter Bubble Bar and 1/3 of a Happy Blooming Bath Melt.  This is the best bath I had ever had in my entire life.  It smells heavenly and the scent is still on my skin after the bath.  The water was a beautiful purply pink color and there were lots of frothy white bubbles.  I rubbed the Happy Blooming all over my body in the bath and soaked in it for about twenty minutes.  I listened to a crackling fire .(courtesy of MoneySavingVideos on YouTube)

The thing about this bath is that is was so relaxing.  I was calmed and relaxed (today was kind of stressul) and kept smelling the water.  I played with the bubbles and when I got out, I noticed that my skin was the softest it had ever been.  Not after anything does my skin feel that nice and soft.  Not after lotions, body butters, Buffy, massage bars does my skin feel that soft.  The Space Girl does have almond oil in it, which makes it very moisturizing and the bath melt made the water amazingly soft and milky.  My only complaint is that Space Girl didn't have any fizzing candy and it fizzed out really fast.  Next time I go to LUSH, I am going to buy more Space Girls, another Comforter and more Happy Bloomings because my skin is thanking me so much!  I feel so relaxed, but before I go, I will rate each product 1-10.

Space Girl- 10
Happy Blooming- 10
Comforter- 10

If you can't tell, I love this cocktail.

Bye, Lushies!

Wild For Wax Tag!

1. How did you get into loving wax? I have always loved different smells.  I would go to Bath and Body Works and smell everything and say what scents were my favorite but I never bought anything.  A year or so back xSparkage posted a video where Candles By Victoria sent her a package.  I watched her review videos and never got around to buying any because the website is set up kind of terribly and it was overwhelming.  I ordered less than a month ago and now I can't walk into a store that sells candles (Yankee, Bath and Body Works) without getting at least a tart.
2. Favorite wax brand?  So far it's Candles By Victoria.  They are the most highly scented I've tried so far and they have a huge selection.  I also have an order coming from Sweet Fixations which I will follow up on when I get it.
3. Do you prefer tarts or candles, overall?  I normally just burn tarts but I like the effect a candle gives and the  ambiance it creates.  I can't really burn any candles in my room, so I've just been getting tarts.
4. Favorite Yankee fragrance?  Mandarin Cranberry hands down.
5. Favorite Slatkin fragrance?   I'm not too familiar with Slatkin, as the only stores are in my local malls (30 minutes away) and I just got into it so I haven't really gotten a lot of the ones for different seasons, but the best one I have now is Peach Bellini.
6. Are you a fresh, food, fruit, floral, or festive person?  Food all the way! :-)
7. If you could burn only one candle for the next year, which one would it be?  Candles By Victoria Orange Juice Cake.
8. Which candle/tart is on your list to buy next?  Well my Fall CBV order is going to be Amish Quilt, Country Bumpkin, Spiced Vanilla, Spiced Apple Pie, Buttery Gingerbread, Leaves Type, Pumpkin Pie Spice, Charlie Brown Christmas, Pomegranate Cider, Why I Autumn, Cinnamon Apple Berry, Light Blue For Men, Orange Cranberry Muffin, Happy and Citrus Spice.
9. How long does it take you to finish a large jar/tumbler?  I never really burn candles, just tarts.
10. Which scent do you have the most of? None.  I only have one of each scent I have.
11. Biggest candle purchase regret?  Sweet Angel Dust from CBV.  It is supposed to smell like mm fairy from a store that I talk about a lot.  It smells mediciney sweet.
12. How many candles/tarts (approx) do you have in your collection?  23.
13. Do bakery scents make you hungry or do they satisfy your cravings?  Neither.
14. How many hours a week do you have something burning/melting, on average?  At least 30.
15. How many usually going at once?  One in my room.
16. What do your friends/family think of wax obsession?  Most don't really care.  My aunt likes candles too, but not to the same extent I do.  My dad hates different smells.
17. Which waxy youtuber enjoy watching most?  SayAnythingBr00ke because she describes the scents so well.
18. Which waxy youtuber do you trust the most for recommendations?  Brooke, we have very similar tastes in smells.

Love Lettuce Review

Hey lushies!  Before I get into the review, I just want to tell you all that I have a Pintrest now!  So please follow me.  www.pintrest.com/thelushietimes

Okay, so now into the review.  If you read my haul post, you would know that I got my first pot of Love Lettuce.  Before I get into my thoughts, I will tell you what LUSH says about it and what the ingredients are.

"This mask is a seaweed gel with exfoliating granules through it.
Ideal for those who want to clear away dead skin and brighten the face, whilst also gently treating it to softening ingredients.  First we make a seaweed gel using agar, then we add honey and almond oil to soften and moisturise the skin. Kaolin and fullers earth deep clean, absorb grease and debris and tighten the skin. Finally there are ground almonds and ground almond shells, so that when you come to wash this off with water, you can work it over your face for a few minutes to exfoliate away dead skin.  Simply fragranced with 100 percent pure French lavender, to balance the skin’s sebum production.  Ground almond shells are a good natural exfoliant. They are rough enough to give a good scrub, but soft enough not to damage the skin. Every skin is different, and you decide how much pressure to use and how long to scrub for."
That description is from the UK website, if it sounds different than the US website to you.  The ingredients are Agar Agar Gel, Kaolin, Honey, Fuller's Earth, Glycerin, Almond Oil, Ground Almond Shells. Ground Almonds, Lavender Oil, Chlorophyllin, Geraniol, Limonene, Linalool,  and Perfume.
A little bit about my skin first.  My face is pretty dry.  I'm only a little bit oily only around the crevices on the sides of my nose, where oil tends to collect.  My t-zone is normal and my cheeks are pretty dry.  They don't get flaky though.
It smells kind of herbally.  I don't like herbal smells but I do like this.  I wish the herbal smell of Buffy would smell like this.  It is bright green and has little exfoliating almonds in it.  I put some on my face, it didn't take that much to cover my whole face and it didn't feel like anything extraordinary.  I left it on for ten minutes and questioned the exfoliation because I didn't feel it.  Finally, the ten minutes was up and I scrubbed it off.  You have to scrub at it to get it off.  I did then feel the exfoliation.  I washed my mask off and patted my face dry and looked in the mirror.  I had the most beautiful glow I had ever had in my entire life.  It is the day after and the glow is still there.  This mask is normally recommended for normal to oily skin, but it didn't dry me out at all.  It was very moisturizing and balanced my skin out.  It sucked up excess oil and left a very nice feel on my skin.  My face was so soft.  This is the best mask I have ever tried from LUSH and once I'm done with this, I will have my 5 black pots ad will either go in and get this or if they have Oatifix, I will get that because I want to try it.

So that's my review and have a very LUSH day!

LUSH Tag

How did you get into LUSH?  I got into LUSH because xSparkage had some videos on it and everything sounded nice, so I went to a store and have been addicted ever since.

How much money do you spend at LUSH?  A lot.  I normally go in for just a few things and get sucked into a million other things.

What is your all-time favorite product from LUSH?  I'm sorry, I don't have just one.  The hair products have made the best difference in my beauty routines, so I would have to say, my shampoo and conditioner. (Curly Wurly and American Cream)

What is your favorite section from LUSH?  Probably the bath products.

When did you get into LUSH?  About a year ago.

How many people did you get into LUSH?  My mom is becoming more and more of a Lushie.  I temporarily got my sister into it but she doesn't care anymore.  She barely ever even washes her face, so having a relaxing bath is probably not a necessity for her.  So, really just my mom, and she is still progressing into a Lushie, not an instant addict like me.

Why do you love/hate LUSH?  I love it because the products are amazing, the sales associates are amazing and it is so fun to go into the store and run around smelling stuff.  I don't hate it in any way, but I wish the stuff was a little bit cheaper.  I also hate Karma/patchouli and wish they would have more non-Karma stuff.

Do you feel guilty once you've spent all that money on LUSH?  No.  I feel happy when I walk out of that store with that giant LUSH bag in my hand.

How many times have you read your LUSH Times?  About as many times as I have breathed.

How did your first LUSH experience feel?  It was extremely overwhelming.  The people in the store were so nice, but it was so crowded and my LUSH is tiny.  There were so many products and I didn;t know what a lot of them were for and it was a very overwhelming experience and I loved everything I got and now half my time in LUSH is just chatting with the sales associates about the new products and what smells we like.

LUSH Haul and Scent Review (Also Featuring Yankee Candle)

Hey guys!  I went to LUSH today and bought a bunch of stuff.  I went with my mom and we had to pick up a lotion for her friend.  The total of all of those things came up to $99.71 with the return of a jar of Angels on Bare Skin because it didn't work for me.  I am now using the Clinique 3 Step Skin Care System (review soon).  Enjoy the haul!

I got a bunch of bath products.  The first one is the Fluffy Egg because my store (Garden State Plaza) still had them let over from Easter.  It smells like all the other Candy Fluff scents.  The other bath bomb I got is the Space Girl, which smells like grapefruit and blackcurrant.  It smells so good!  I bought the Creamy Candy bubble bar (I got the blue flower, it looks prettier) which smells very sweet and yummy.  I want to eat all this candy stuff I bought.  I also bought two bath melts.  I got You've Been Mangoed, which smells like lemongrass and a little bit of mango.  It smells very similar to Avobath, which I love.  I also bought a Happy Blooming.  It smells like cherries and deiciousness.  I plan to cocktail it with Space Girl and Comforter, like I showed in my last post.

I got the Sweet Lips lip scrub which smells like chocolate.  I love this scent more than Bubblegum and Mint Julips.  I got a shampoo bar, (my first one) the Soak and Float.  My scalp has been so itchy and flaky and the sales associate (she was so amazing, I wish I remembered her name) recommended this product.  Let me come straight out and tell you that this smells TERRIBLE, it smells like a barbeque/campfire.  If it doesn't show any amazing changes, I will try something else.  Hopefully my American Cream covers the scent of this shampoo bar.

I also bought the Love Lettuce face mask because the sales associate recommended it for my dry combination skin, which is surprising because it says it is for normal to oily skin, but I have high hopes for it with all the hype surrounding it.  I also got some Rock Star soap because it smells so amazing.  I got a nine dollar chunk of it.  It smells like the Creamy Candy, but with some fizz to it.  I got some samples of Toothy tabs.  I got the two minty ones, Ultrablast and Dirty.  I will have a review on those, as well as the Soak and Float.

My mom bought the Godmother, that smells like snow fairy ($3 chunk) and Figs and Leaves soap that is a very subtle, clean scent ($6 chunk).  She also got the small Charity Pot that goes to +350.org.  Her friend needed a lotion, so I picked the Karma Kream because I thought it smelled nice, even though I don't like the Karma scent because this one is more subdued and has more orange than patchouli, as opposed to the soap or bubble bar.

That's all from LUSH, but I also went to Yankee Candle and White Barn Candle Company.  At Yankee, I got Whoopie Pie (twinkie smell), Candy Corn and Peppermint Cocoa.  At White Barn I got a mini Blackberry Grapefruit because they had an awesome sale on Slatkin candles.  The big ones were $10, the medium ones were 50% off and the mini ones were $2.

Thanks for reading my haul and I'll be back later with the LUSH Tag!

My Current Candle Collection

I you know me in person, you may know that I have an obsession with candles.  It is a pretty newound obsession, after I started seeing Candles By Victoria videos from a lot of the people I watch on YouTube.  The website always overwhelmed me and I never ordered anything.  I regret it now, I have a new obsession.  The website is www.candlesbyvictoria.com  and if you go to the Pouring Pot, (forum) you can find me as "jbgdst."  Now I will show you my scents, with special appearances from Yankee Candle and Slatkin & Co.

I will start with Candles By Victoria.  I have 10 scents from them.  The first one is Emperor's Love.  It smells like Sultana by anonymous bath company.  The next one is called Peace.  It smells very sultry with an underlying orange blossom scent.  Next, I have Goldilocks.  This smells a little bit sweet, with some orangey undertones and an almost maple kind of scent.  It is very complex and hard to explain.  Another one I have is Honeydew Melon, which smells exactly like it sounds.  I want to eat it!  A really nice one is Fresh Cut Grass.  It smells, you guessed it, like fresh cut grass.  Next, Heavy Metal.  It is very sweet ad has an almost fizzy kind of feeling.  It is supposed to smell like a pink soap from an anonymous bath company, but it doesn't cold.  Maybe it smells like it, when it's burned.  My least favorite so far, Sweet Angel Dust, smells like Heavy Metal on crack.  It is very mediciny sickening sweet.  I will probably have a trade with this for something else.  One of the best ones is Bath Time With Pooh.  Its smells like honey and toffee.  I am melting a piece right now in my tart melter.  I also love Snuggle Up which smells like blackcurrents and bergamot.  My favorite one, which was actually the free scent shot I received, is Orange Juice Cake.  It smells like fresh squeezed orange juice and vanilla cake.

The next company I will review is Yankee Candle.  The first one is Coconut Bay, which smells like pure coconuts, perfect for summer.  I also have Vanilla Lime, which smells like vanilla and lime.  There was a swirl candle that was Coconut Bay and Vanilla Lime combined, so I got both tarts to mix them and create that scent.  My favorite one is Mandarin Cranberry.  It smells like mandarin oranges and cranberries, but it has some sweetness to it that makes it so appealing to me.  I want to have an endless supply of this (and Orange Juice Cake) at my disposal forever.  I also got Blueberry Scone, which is very accurate.  Good job for getting one more food smell right, the only other accurate one is Macintosh.  I also bought Apple Cider which smells like cinnamon and spices, not much apple, but that is just on cold throw.

The last brand I have to talk about is Slatkin & Co.  This brand is sold at Bath and Body Works and QVC. These are some of their summer scents.  The first one I have is Summer Boardwalk.  They say "Like memories of the best summer spent at the beach, caramel glazed popcorn, warm taffy apples and salted, sweet cream."  This smells so good!  It smells like movie popcorn with a sweet element added to it.  Not something I would have thought I would like, but I really love it.  I also bought Paradise Daiquiri.  It says "A raspberry twist on the classic Pina Colada.  Made with dark rum and sweet orange, topped with coconut cream and warm vanilla."  This smells like raspberry, coconut and vanila.  I also bought Peach Bellini.  It says "A sweet twist on the classic blend of white peach, yellow mandarin and blackcurrant, with jasmine and a splash of juicy orange."  I smell fresh cut peach, a little orange but no jasmine.  I like that it doesn't smell jasminey, because I don;t like jasmine smells.  This smells like what I wanted Yankee's peach candle to smell like.  The last candle I have to share is Tropical Spice.  They say "Like the allure of moonlight on a warm island evening, an exotic blend of cinnamon bark, spiced rum and vanilla."  It smells like cinnamon with a tropical undertone, so if you love spicy scents, but feel like you can't burn them in the summer, try this scent.  The spice fits with fall and winter and the rum, tropical element fits it with spring and summer.  A perfect year round candle.

That's all the candles I ave to share with you.  I'll for sure keep you updated on everything.

FTC Disclaimer: I am not paid to post this post.  I was not compensated in any way.  I paid for everything myself, except for the Orange Juice Cake scent shot.  That was the free scent shot that arrives in all packages. (not always that smell)  I am not affiliated with any of the companies mentioned.

Happy Spacecurrent (Bath Cocktail)

Hey Guys,

Sorry about my long absence.  I have been pretty busy with finals and school ending, but that is done now, so be expecting more posts from me.  Today, I will share a bath cocktail with you.  If you aren't familiar with a bath cocktail, it's when you put together a bath bomb, bubble bar and bath melt.  People also normally will coordinate their soaps and shampoos to match the scent and they will burn candles.  This is popular on YouTube, but since I'm not posting videos on YouTube, I'll share it here.

I will start out with a bathtub that is half filled with water.  I will then, throw in my Space Girl bath bomb.  The Space Girl is a purple bath bomb shaped like a planet that has some gold glitter and pop rocks (like the candy) that make really cool sounds in the water.  It smells like grapefruit, bergamot and blackcurrents.  The bubble bar for this cocktail is the Comforter.  I take 1/4 of it, put it in a nylon, tie up the nylon and crush up the bubble bar.  Then I tie the nylon to the faucet and hold the crushed up bar under the running water until there is no more bubble bar left.  It smells like blackcurrents, bergamot and fruity goodness.  The bath melt I will be using for this cocktail is the Happy Blooming bath melt.  It is a very nice uplifting cherry scent.  I will take 1/3 of it and play around with it while it is in the tub, or else it will just sit at the bottom and do nothing.  The water should be a very pretty purple pink color with a little bit of glitter, lots of bubbles and a beautiful popping noise.
Some extra stuff, I will wash my body with the Sultana of Soap, washing my hair (as always) with Curly Wurly and American Cream.  I will be melting my Candles By Victoria tart in Snuggle Up, which has a blackcurrent and bergamot scent, similar to that of the Comforter.

Have a Nice Bath,

Mr. Lushie
